General Nursing & Midwifery (G.N.M) – Only for Female

General Nursing & Midwifery, popularly known as GNM, is a three-year Diploma Programme, including supervised clinical training and internship. Recognised by Government of Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council (APNMC) and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi.  It is one of the most respected and exceptional highly demanded Nursing Course.

Eligibility:

  • Passed 10+2 (any stream) from a recognised board.
  • Minimum 40% aggregate marks.
  • English as a subject is mandatory.

Age Criteria:

  • Minimum Age: 17 years

Other Requirements:

  • The Candidate should be Medically fit.
  • Valid Government ID proof.
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) & All Required Documents.

1. Is NEET required for GNM admission?

No. NEET is not required for GNM admissions. Candidates who have passed 10+2 with minimum 40% marks are eligible to apply.

2. Can Arts or Commerce students apply for GNM?

Yes! Unlike B.Sc Nursing, GNM accepts students from all streams — Science, Arts, and Commerce — as long as they have English as a subject and meet the minimum marks criteria.

3. Is GNM only for female candidates at St. Luke's?

 Yes, at St. Luke’s, GNM admissions are currently open for female candidates only.

4. What is the duration of the GNM programme?

The GNM programme is 3 years of academic study followed by a mandatory 6-month internship at a recognised hospital.

5. Is the GNM diploma valid across India?

Absolutely. Our GNM programme is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Andhra Pradesh Nursing & Midwifery Council (APNMC), making it fully valid across all Indian states.

6. Can I go abroad after completing GNM?

Yes. Many GNM-qualified nurses pursue careers in the Gulf countries, the UK, Canada, and Australia. Additional licensing exams like NCLEX, HAAD, or PROMETRIC may be required depending on the country.
